Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire has called for a historic 'champion vs. champion' super-fight with UFC featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski.
Volkanovski defended his UFC featherweight title with a controversial split-decision victory over Max Holloway at UFC 251.
And after the Australian narrowly outpointed the Hawaiian, 'Pitbull' took to social media to call him out for a 'champion vs. champion' showdown.
"We need the Ali Act for MMA. I could fight one of these guys, Champion vs Champion. That's what MMA fans want to see," he tweeted after Saturday's co-main event.

The Brazilian star, who also holds the Bellator lightweight title, then sent UFC president Dana White and Bellator president Scott Coker a message.
He added: "Let's make MMA better. @BellatorMMA vs @ufc. Me vs @alexvolkanovski. I heard you're a betting man @danawhite, let's bet. Let's go @ScottCoker."
While a clash between Volkanovski and Freire would be huge for the sport, it's extremely unlikely to happen with the UFC not keen on co-promoting with other MMA promotions.
It's just another fantasy bout that MMA fans can dream over.
Volkanovski, meanwhile, remains perfect inside the famed Octagon. He's 9-0 in the UFC with back-to-back victories over featherweight great Holloway.
He also boasts victories over Chad Mendes and former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
Freire, on the other hand, is riding an impressive five-fight winning streak which includes notable victories over Daniel Straus to claim the Bellator featherweight title and Michael Chandler to win the Bellator lightweight belt.
