UFC Are Securing A Private Island To Stage Fights

UFC are close to securing a private island where they will host fights during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MMA promotion's plans have been nixed due to coronavirus, with Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 being postponed for the FIFTH time due to the Dagestani champion being stuck in Russia.
As confirmed last night, No.4 ranked lightweight Justin Gaethje will replace Khabib in the main event on April 18 - with the top secret location yet to be revealed.

But UFC president Dana White has been working on a plan B for fans to get their fight fix and he's shed light on acquiring a private island that would allow international fighters to compete.

"I am a day or two away from securing a private island," White told TMZ.
"I have a private island that I've secured; we're getting the infrastructure put in now, so I'm gonna start doing the international fights, too.
"With international fighters, because I won't be able to get international fighters into the U.S., I have a private island that I'm gonna start flying them all in and doing international fights from there.
"So as of April 18th, the UFC is back up and running."
In an unprecedented but wholly exciting move, White plans to have fights taking place every week on the island and says UFC have their own planes to fly talent in and out.
As if the #UFC249 saga wasn't crazy enough, Dana White has revealed the card and several others, will take place on a private Island :flushed:.

There will be no fans due to the current situation but the alternative, which looks set to be announced very soon going off White's comments, is a very intriguing one.
Separately, White confirmed that Joe Rogan will be providing commentary for UFC 249 this month following on from rumours regarding his health concerns.
