Former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has called for UFC to sign Logan Paul as he feels is the perfect fit for the company.

Paul recently lost out to rival KSI on points in his professional boxing debut at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, with the fight doing more UK pay-per-view buys than Anthony Joshua's shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in June.

And Woodley, who is 19-4-1 in MMA, feels as though it's in UFC's best interests to follow up in by handing the controversial YouTuber a contract.

To be honest, when the UFC brought over CM Punk, I don't know why they wouldn't bring over Logan Paul," Woodley said on TMZ's "The Hollywood Beatdown".

"Logan Paul is the exact same demographic, 18 to 30 years old. The exact YouTubers that are watching his stuff are the same ones that are watching the UFC. He has a huge following. Great deal. He looks athletic, he's a Division I wrestler, he's insane, and he's going to talk a lot of sh*t so the press conferences are going to be insane.

"After this last event, I wouldn't be surprised in the next two months we see some breaking news of Logan Paul getting a couple-fight deal with the UFC."

Woodley talked up the possibility of Paul being paired with CM Punk, who lost both of his UFC fights in embarrassing fashion, and the 24-year old himself has gone on record to say he'd make it a third defeat for the former professional wrestler.

"I am (open to fighting CM Punk)," Paul told TMZ.

"I think I would destroy CM Punk if I'm being honest. I don't know if anyone would disagree with that. He lost all (his UFC fights). I know I can take him.

"This isn't about CM Punk anymore. I would want to fight an MMA fight. I would want to fight in the UFC or Bellator. Why CM Punk? Anyone, just a worthy adversary. It can't be a world-class fighter."

Paul has also called out the UFC's biggest star, Conor McGregor and says a transition into MMA would be natural.

"Yeah, I'll fight Conor," Paul told Fight Hub TV, as per The Independent.

"He's f***ing punching old men in the face.

"No offence to Eddie [Hearn], I'm an MMA fan. I want to do MMA after this. I wrestled in high school."
