Georges St-Pierre has fended off fierce competition from Jon Jones to be named the best MMA fighter of all time based on his accomplishments in all divisions.

The 39-year-old UFC legend, who retired from combat sports in 2019, is widely considered one of the best MMA fighters of all time.

And Fight Matrix placed 'GSP' at the top of the pile with an incredible 30,748 points, which were awarded through its ranking system.

The publication pointed out that longevity at or near the top of the division does play a 'huge role in where a fighter is ranked.'

Fight Matrix also added that very few 'extreme cases of past-prime bad performances' have been omitted from the rankings.

According to the MMA website, divisional strength is another significant factor in amassing all-time ranking points.

Fighters' head-to-head records don't have a major impact on the rankings like other factors, but they do 'have a minor, but direct effect.'

Current light heavyweight champ Jones finished second behind 'GSP.'

Posted below are Fight Matrix's 35 all-time best MMA fighters based on their accomplishments in all divisions.
