Jon Jones no longer holds the top spot in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings alongside Khabib Nurmagomedov, the publication has revealed.

The 32-year-old light heavyweight champ is widely regarded as one of the best MMA fighters of all time and is currently top of UFC's official pound-for-pound rankings.

But ESPN recently updated its rankings and confirmed that Khabib, 31, now stands alone at the top of the MMA pile.

According to the publication, Jones' 'second straight close call' win over Dominick Reyes has seen him drop to second place.

ESPN added that Khabib has the chance to prove why he deserved the top spot when he clashes with Tony Ferguson on 18th April at UFC 249.

Brett Okamoto, Marc Raimondi and Jeff Wagenheim all voted for the 31-year-old lightweight champ to be No 1 in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Ariel Helwani was the only ESPN writer on the voting panel to place UFC legend Jones ahead of Khabib in the publication's rankings.
