Conor McGregor has managed to climb up one place in UFC's official pound-for-pound rankings as part of the latest update.

The 31-year-old Irish UFC superstar made his sensational MMA return back in January with a stunning first-round TKO victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

And McGregor, whose next opponent has yet to be named, has now moved up to eighth place in the rankings.

Other UFC stars that have climbed up one place include Daniel Cormier, Israel Adesanya, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.

Several fighters have moved up in the rankings due to the retirement of UFC star Henry Cejudo.

The 33-year-old American, who was third in the previous rankings, vacated the bantamweight championship after his victory against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 last month.

Cejudo's exit from the rankings has also allowed Francis Ngannou, who sealed a sensational 20-second victory against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, to climb into 15th place.

Posted below is UFC's current pound-for-pound rankings.

McGregor has welcomed the idea of setting up an MMA super-fight with UFC legend Anderson Silva.

But UFC president Dana White has dismissed the idea that the fight could happen soon and advised the 'Notorious' to "sit back and relax."

He explained: "It's not a fight [McGregor vs Silva] that I'm interested in right now.

"Listen, everybody's in quarantine, right? They can't go to the gym. They can't go to restaurants. So they sit on these stupid things all day. Conor and I have not talked about fighting.

"If you're Conor, sitting at home, everybody is calling you out, in every weight division.

"Who's next? I'm waiting for [heavyweight] Daniel Cormier to call him out, you know? Conor, his personality, he's going to respond to that.

"I'm not interested in anybody right now for Conor. I think what works for Conor right now is for him to sit back and relax."
