Aljamain Sterling has fired back at TJ Dillashaw after he branded him an "actor" following his DQ win at UFC 259.

Sterling claimed the UFC bantamweight title after Petr Yan was disqualified for an illegal knee in their featured bout.

'Funk Master' was unable to continue after being hit by a brutal knee in the fourth round of their title clash.

He was declared the winner and the new 135lbs UFC champion.

But Sterling's inability to fight on angered former division champion Dillashaw who slammed his rival on social media.

He tweeted: "And the Oscar goes to @FakeMaster for Best Actor in a Title Fight and Petr Yan needs a crash course in the rules of the sport he was once champion in.

"Hey Petr now you're a cheater too, b*tch."

Sterling swiftly replied, tweeting: "You cheated your entire UFC career and you have the balls to call someone an actor?

"You lost your manhood when you decided to inject yourself so that you actually compete. I hope Sandhagen tools like he did to you in practices before."

Dillashaw, who held the UFC bantamweight title between 2017 to 2018 before voluntarily vacating his belt after a failed drug test, is set to return to action after serving his suspension.

He's reportedly in line to face former sparring partner Cory Sandhagen in a title eliminator, per Dana White.

As for Sterling, it appears an immediate rematch with Yan is in the works following their controversial meeting at UFC 259.
