Khabib Nurmagomedov claimed that fierce rival Conor McGregor 'begged' for him not to kill him in their blockbuster UFC 229 clash.
And Khabib defeated the 'Notorious' in the fourth round of their super-fight after locking in a rear-naked chokehold and successfully retaining his championship.

Speaking ahead of his fight with Dustin Poirier in 2019, the 'Eagle' was asked if a rematch could happen with McGregor in the future.
Khabib hit out at the idea by saying McGregor doesn't deserve a rematch and claimed his fierce rival asked him not to kill him in their UFC fight.
The Russian star said at the time: "Like, last three years he only won victory in amateur boxing.

"How [does] he deserve a rematch? Like, he tap. He beg me, 'Please, don't kill me.' Now he talk about rematch?"
McGregor, 32, made his long-awaited return to the octagon with his sensational first-round victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January.
The former dual champ was eager to avenge his defeat to Khabib and had been eyeing up the possibility of setting up a lucrative rematch with the 'Eagle.'

Khabib recently hinted that tensions with McGregor have started to cool down and named one important condition the Irish superstar needs to meet to secure a rematch with him.
