Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed that he is willing to fight Conor McGregor in a blockbuster rematch should the Irishman beat Dustin Poirier.

The 31-year-old lightweight champ clashed with his fierce rival at UFC 229 in October 2018 after a heated build-up to the mega-fight.

And Khabib, who defeated Poirier in his last fight, locked in a neck-crank submission on McGregor to secure victory in the fourth round.

The 'Eagle,' who returns to action against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on 24th October, even suggested that the animosity between him and McGregor has faded away.

Khabib added that he would be willing to face either McGregor or rival Tony Ferguson if they successfully defeat Poirier.

Speaking at a press conference in Russia, the UFC star said: "Aside from sports, there are also human relations. I'm OK with [Conor]. It's behind us.

"To live in the past and hold grudges -- it's not me. Father wasn't like that, and I don't think I've strayed too far from him.

"I don't condone personal attacks. But who wouldn't like it if somebody wished their father well.

"After Gaethje, I would be ready to face any opponent who gets a win over Poirier. Tony or McGregor, it makes no difference."

McGregor, 32, made his sensational UFC return in January with a clinical first-round TKO victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

The Irish superstar has been vocal about his desire to avenge his 2018 defeat to Khabib and continued to trade blows with his rival on social media in recent months.

But McGregor has cast doubts over a potential rematch with Khabib now after he announced his shock retirement from MMA in June.

Khabib will defend his championship next against Gaethje, but the 'Eagle' has reiterated his desire to face UFC legend Georges St-Pierre in an MMA super-fight in 2021.
