Jon Jones Takes Aim At Israel Adesanya With A Brutal Dig On Social Media
Jon Jones has turned his rivalry with Israel Adesanya up a notch by suggesting that he is ready to "slap" the anime-loving UFC star.
UFC light heavyweight champ Jones, 32, has been out of the octagon since his split decision victory over Thiago Santos at UFC 239 in July.
But 'Bones' has since entered into a heated rivalry with Adesanya, 30, and has now taken another dig at him in an Instagram comment.
Jones wrote: "Man I can't wait to 'eventually' slap this dude, 30 years old claiming to draw energy his favorite cartoon. 2021 please hurry up and get here."
Adesanya adopted his nickname of the 'Last Stylebender' from the popular animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender, along with having a stomach tattoo inspired by the Japanese hit series Naruto.
UFC legend Jones previously teased that he would move up to heavyweight before the 30-year-old UFC middleweight champ would compete at light heavyweight.
And Adesanya fired back at his rival by insisting that he would climb up a weight division to "f**k this m**********r up when I fight him."
The middleweight champ's coach, Eugene Bareman, also fired out shots at Jones by saying that he needs Adesanya more than his rival needs him.
Adesanya, who had a heated spat with Jones on social media last month, recently slammed the future UFC Hall of Famer after claiming that nobody "really cares about his fights."
He told the Joe Rogan Experience: "Let it be known he started it [the feud]. He started it.
"I think it is because I'm the freshman. I'm the guy he wishes he was. He is a fan, trust me, he is a fan. He is my biggest fan.
"I think he sees himself like I could have been that cool if I didn't f**k all this up.
"He sees me the new freshman getting all the shine and getting all the hype."
