Jon Jones has reignited his rivalry with Anthony Johnson by suggesting that he is ready to 'choke him out' in a fight.
Johnson, 35, is preparing to return to the UFC after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus and opened up about the possibility of setting up a mega clash with Jones.
And Jones, 32, took an initial swipe at 'Rumble' by suggesting that he "better make sure you have that cardio together big fella."
But the UFC light heavyweight champion later added that the pair have "always been cool" before saying that he would be "happy to choke you out if that's what you're looking for."
Johnson told Below the Belt last week that he would consider dropping down to 205 pounds if that opened up the door to a Jones fight.
"We'll make it happen if I get low enough," he explained at the time.
"We'll fight at 205. That's a fight I wanted.
"I think Jon wanted that fight, too, before everything happened.
"That situation, which, it's over with, it's in the past. When we see each other there's no animosity between each other.
"We show each other love, you know what I mean? But that was a fight, that's why I went up to 205, man."
Johnson fought twice against Daniel Cormier and suffered two defeats at the hands of Jones' fierce rival.
But even Johnson said that he was disappointed the fight with 'Bones' never went ahead.
"That's the guy I want [Jones] and then you know, when I get my heartbroken, I have to fight 'DC,' it's not as motivating," he said.
"The fire wasn't in me to fight 'DC' but I fought him, kind of fought him, you know what I'm saying, but it wasn't the same drive."
Jones, who remains top of the UFC pound-for-pound rankings, last fought at UFC 239 in July after he retained the light heavyweight championship against Thiago Santos.
