You heard that right, folks.

Tyson "The Gypsy King" Fury has made an extraordinary claim that he will participate in an MMA bout before Christmas, but that's if he's "not busy".

The current lineal heavyweight champion is already making a name for himself in WWE, where he will make his in-ring debut against Braun Strowman on October 31 in Saudi Arabia.

But now the 31-year-old has revealed that a career in MMA could be on the horizon, as he spoke about a previous offer from UFC president Dana White.

"Would I like to try MMA? For sure. I might have an MMA fight before Christmas if I'm not busy," he told GiveMeSport.

"I had an offer from Dana White years ago to fight Cain Velasquez in about 2012 or 2013, but it wasn't enough so I never bothered," Fury said.

"But I'm looking to have an MMA fight this year - not UFC, but MMA. So I'll have to find a victim."

Fury says he would be happy to face 'one of the big guys' in UFC, but played down a possible bout against Conor McGregor.

"I believe I can hit them before they can hit me." Fury said. "With them little gloves on and the fact that they don't have any defense at all, it's going to be curtains.

"Would I step into the octagon with Conor McGregor? Are you crazy? The fact that Mcgregor is 5ft 7 and 10 stone, and the fact that I'm 6ft 9 and 20 stone, I don't think that would be very fair.

"If you put five Conor McGregor's in there and 10 Floyd Mayweather's there as well, then it might be even."

Earlier this week, Braun Strowman launched a sneak attack on Fury ahead of their eagerly-anticipated clash at WWE Crown Jewel.

"The Gypsy King" has been training at the WWE Performance Center of late and a video on WWE's YouTube channel showed Fury learning the ropes with an opponent in the ring.

When the 'Gypsy King' whipped himself into the ropes, the boxing star was blindsided as Strowman came flying in and shoulder-barged him off his feet.

Fury hit the canvas and instantly grabbed his ankle as the 'Monster Among Men' laughed on his way out of the ring.

As the WWE superstar exited the building, an infuriated Fury yelled: "I'll see you in Saudi, you big bum."
