Tony Ferguson Finally Breaks Silence After Shock Defeat To Justin Gaethje At UFC 249

UFC star Tony Ferguson has congratulated Justin Gaethje on his stunning victory at UFC 249 and admitted that it 'just wasn't his night.'

'El Cucuy,' 36, sustained a brutal amount of punishment on Saturday as he lost his interim UFC lightweight championship clash at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

And now Ferguson has taken to social media and said that 'win or lose, always act like a champion.'

The former interim lightweight champ tweeted: "'Bushido Code' Brought Sports Back W/ Class # WayOfTheWarrior Win or Lose Always Act Like A Champion Just Wasn't My Night #ufc249 Congrats @Justin_Gaethje On A Good Fight -CSO- @ufc [sic]."

Ferguson, who saw his 12-fight winning streak come to an end, instead faced Gaethje at the rescheduled event in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gaethje, who is now eyeing up his title shot against Khabib, has said "there's no other challenge" that he wants to face right now than a showdown with the 'Eagle.'

The 'Highlight' said in his post-fight interview: "Khabib is the best in the world, I've been working since I was four for challenges like this.

"I'm happy to represent the United States of America against Russia's best. He's 28-0 and there's no other challenge I want right now, I want to fight him."
