Unseen Footage Shows How Khabib Completely Fooled Conor McGregor With Second Round Punch

You might be one of those who underestimated the brilliance of Khabib Nurmagomedov before he retained his lightweight title against Conor McGregor on Saturday night and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Going into the 'biggest fight in UFC history' Khabib was arguably the underdog. His reserved nature didn't give much away as McGregor talked the talk.

But the Russian fighter proved his doubters wrong is Las Vegas on Saturday night and let his hands do the talking, beating 'Notorious' in the fourth round.

It was the biggest win of Nurmagomedov's unbeaten career thus far, but how did he do it?

Bleacher Report's JESnowden has provided a snippet of Khabib's tactics, analysing the crucial overhand right in the second round that floored McGregor.

As you can see in the footage below the Russian fighter completely fooled Conor into thinking a takedown was incoming by dropping his head, which made his opponent reach out his right leg to sprawl.

Khabib instead 'lowered the boom' and picked off McGregor with a deadly right hook - a great piece of work from the 30-year-old.

It was a hugely important moment in the fight, a moment that looked to sap the life of an already tiring Conor McGregor. Unsurprisingly though, UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the Irishman wants a rematch with Khabib after his loss.

According to ESPN MMA editor Greg Rosenstein, it looks like another fight between the two could well and truly happen now.

Do you think McGregor has a chance if the pair were to go head-to-head once more?
