Kamaru Usman Says Fight With Khabib Nurmagomedov Would Be The Biggest In UFC History

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman believes a showdown against Khabib Nurmagomedov would be the biggest fight in UFC history, but admits it's not likely to happen anytime soon.

The 33-year-old Nigerian fighter recently defeated Jorge Masvidal in spectacular fashion at UFC 261.

Usman, who was defending his welterweight title for the second time in just over two months, landed a huge shot in the second round to secure one of the most emphatic wins in recent history. I mean, just take a look.

The debate as to who Usman should fight next continues.

Conor McGregor recently called out the welterweight champion in a Twitter post, where he accused him of 'copying his shots' in the Octagon.

But many would like to see Nurmagomedov come out of retirement to face The Nigerian Nightmare in what would be a guaranteed must-watch bout.

Usman, meanwhile, believes that a head-to-head with the Russian would be the 'biggest' fight in UFC history, although he has his doubts about whether it would happen.

"It absolutely would be the biggest fight in UFC history." he told TMZ. "But the problem is, it wouldn't happen.

"I've lost faith in this one. I think you have more chance of Kamaru Usman and Georges St-Pierre happening before Kamaru Usman and Khabib. That one just won't happen."

Another 'fighter' who has recently called out Usman is YouTube star Jake Paul.

The American challenged the UFC welterweight champion to a boxing match to a boxing match and promised it would be his 'biggest pay day' yet.

"Challenge accepted." Paul wrote on Twitter. "@USMAN84kg if your boss Dana [White] gives you permission to box me and make more money than you ever have, let me know and we can lace them up.

"I promise it will be your biggest pay day."
