Former UFC star Nick Diaz has called out Conor McGregor for getting involved in the current celebrity UFC fight saga.

The former Strikeforce Champion called out McGregor on Instagram, stating; "Why would you wanna fight someone who can't fight.

"What a peace (sic) of sh*t!! Same as beating someone with gloves on"

The comments come after a bizarre turn of events which begun with popstar Justin Bieber challenging actor Tom Cruise to a fight in the octagon.

McGregor then got involved in the situation, offering McGregor Sports and Entertainment as a potential host for the bout.

The Irishman then went on to challenge actor Mark Wahlberg to a fight on the same card, stating 'Back when Mark Wahlberg was marky mark, I'd've still slapped the ears off him.'

McGregor has had his issues with the Diaz clan in the past, specifically with Nick's brother Nate.

The duo have faced off in the past with two infamous encounters in 2016 garnering huge buy rates for the UFC. At UFC 196, Diaz submitted 'The Notorious' who exacted revenge at UFC 202 in a five-round fire fight.

McGregor is reportedly training for a return to MMA, after serving a six-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletics Commission.

He has not competed since his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

Despite his absence from the action, McGregor still manages to be one of the most polarising figures in all of sport.
