Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed what Tony Ferguson said to him during their intense face-off and it pretty much sums him up as a person.

Nurmagomedov and Ferguson came head-to-head at an explosive UFC 249 pre-fight press conference last Friday in Las Vegas.

The pair of lightweights exchanged barbs before being involved in a fiery staredown ahead of their highly-anticipated April 18 clash in Brooklyn.

And as both men faced off, Ferguson bizarrely told Nurmagomedov to take off his glasses despite not wearing any.

Speaking after the presser, the 155lb king revealed: "He [Tony Ferguson] told me to take off my glasses. I said I don't have glasses. You have to take off your glasses."

Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, stoked his rivalry with Ferguson by claiming he'd eat him in a street fight.

"Who are you? You've fought a few American guys," he argued. "You've never fought in the streets. I'm from (Russia). I can eat you. What are you talking about?

"You're not from Mexico. You're not a real Mexican. You're a fake Mexican. First you say you're American, now you're talking about you being Mexican.

"Where are you from? Where are you from? You're not real Mexican. No, no, no, buddy, you're a California guy. You're not Mexican. These two are different."

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson headlines a stacked UFC 249 card next month with Conor McGregor in line to face the winner.

But the Dagestan fighter's manager Ali Abdelaziz wants the Irishman to face No.4 ranked UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje, who wants a piece of 'The Notorious'.

"I think I put myself in a great position to fight for a world title, to try to be the best in the world," Gaethje explained.

"If Conor wants to go past me, he has to go through me. I think that's the only way to legitimise the process and make it right. I think that's the fight."
