UFC star Jon Jones has reportedly been arrested in Las Vegas on charges of domestic violence and tampering with a vehicle.

TMZ have been told by police that the incident took place at Caesars Palace at 5:45am on Friday morning.

They made contact with former light heavyweight champion Jones who was then arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle.

Jones is currently in the state as his 2013 fight against Alexander Gustafsson entered the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday.

No further information has been provided in regards to the arrest itself.

ESPN's Marc Raimondi has confirmed the 34-year-old is being held in Clark County Detention Center, per online inmate records.

Jones' total bail is $8,000 but records claim he is currently on a 12-hour hold.

Jones' adviser, Richard Schaeffer, told ESPN: "The facts are still developing, we really don't know yet the full story so I'm not going to make any comment until I have a chance to talk to Jon and until we see see how this plays out."

Last year saw Jones arresed for aggravated DWI and negligent use of firearms.

His last fight came in February 2020 when he successfully defended the light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.

Since then, he's vacated the title in hopes of moving up to the heavyweight division.

He said on Thursday prior to his Hall of Fame fight induction: "I just don't want to feel smaller than any of the guys.

"I want to be more conditioned, more skilled and just as strong, if not the strongest guy.

"Going from light heavyweight to heavyweight is like jumping three weight classes. I just want to do it right."

He continued: "I will admit Francis [Ngannou, current heavyweight champion] is a bigger one when it comes to the financial side.

"But it's all good. I want the belt, really. I want the belt, I want big money."
