A UFC fan believes he has found the exact moment Khabib Nurmagomedov's legacy was confirmed during his incredible victory against Justin Gaethje.

Nurmagomedov submitted Gaethje in the second round of their lightweight title bout at UFC 254.

He performed a spectacular move to catch his opponent in a triangle choke.

'The Eagle' ate a brutal leg kick then somehow managed to grab a hold of Gaethje's leg before completing the takedown, where he eventually forced the tap.

A Twitter user uploaded the stunning sequence of Nurmagomedov on social media, accompanied with the caption: "Justin Gaethje's kick to Khabib's foot early in the second round is one of the best hits I've ever seen on Khabib... and he somehow turned it into a submission. Absolutely unreal, unparalleled fighter. Greatest ever."

After stopping Gaethje to defend his UFC lightweight title, Nurmagomedov announced his shock retirement from MMA.

He walks away from the UFC with a perfect professional record of 29-0.

UFC president Dana White called the Russian superstar the "baddest motherf**ker on the planet" during the UFC 254 post-fight press conference.

"He is the baddest motherf**ker on the planet," he said.

"Let's start with there's like a feeling out process for two minutes and then it's on. Those two were going. The pressure that Khabib puts on you is unbelievable.

"Literally didn't respect his punching power. Just walked right into everything and did what he wanted. When he started to go for the armbar in the first round, I'm like 'oh my god he's going to try to pull off an armbar.'

"Then the second round, he keeps the pressure on. For that submission, he locks it up, gets it and chokes him out. Unbelievable."

The 32-year-old will go down as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history.
