UFC 253 Results: Jan Blachowicz Knocks Out Dominick Reyes To Become UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion

Jan Blachowicz is the new UFC light-heavyweight champion following his stunning victory against Dominick Reyes at UFC 253.

The Polish fighter stopped Reyes in the second round of their championship bout on 'Fight Island' to become the new ruler of the 205lbs division.

The title became vacant after Jon Jones relinquished it to move up to heavyweight.

Blachowicz is just the third man to hold the UFC light-heavyweight belt since 2011.

As for the actual fight, Blachowicz started on the front foot and landed plenty of low kicks. Reyes himself also landed low kicks.

Blachowicz then inflected a damaging body kick on Reyes who sported a nasty bruise under his right elbow.

In the second round, Blachowicz switched his attack and connected with a couple of hard hooks that floored Reyes.

He followed up with a ground assault with the referee waving off the contest.

Speaking to Jon Anik inside the Octagon, he called out former title holder Jones: "Jon Jones, where are you? Don't be a quitter. I'm waiting for you."

Reyes, meanwhile, took to social media following his second straight defeat.

"Well f**k! Gotta pull the trigger!!! Nothing left to do but get back up. Congrats to Jan, hell of a performance," he wrote on Twitter.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Blachowicz def. Reyes TKO (punches) at 4:36 of Round 2.
