UFC star Tony Ferguson has told Dana White to pay Dustin Poirier to make the fight happen so they can give the fans what they deserve.

Ferguson vs. Poirier was set to co-headline the stacked UFC 254 card until the proposed bout was nixed.

'The Diamond' failed to agree terms with the UFC who cancelled the highly-anticipated lightweight clash.

White has since said the fight is dead and will book 'El Cucuy' against another opponent for the October 24 event.

But Ferguson is hellbent on facing Poirier as he took to social media to issue White and the UFC a message.

On Twitter, he wrote: "'Here's Lookin' At You Kid' Pay the man @danawhite @ufc.

"Love ya'll but let's give the Hardcore & Casual fans what they deserve, a good fight Sir @DustinPoirier."

Poirier swiftly replied, saying: "Violence!!! Let's go Tony!!!"

White claims they are NOT trying to salvage Ferguson vs. Poirier.

"No, we're not even trying to salvage it," the UFC president said during a press conference following Saturday's UFC Fight Night.

He added: "We're getting another fight. It'll happen (with a different opponent for Ferguson)."

Poirier last fought in June when he outpointed Dan Hooker in a 'Fight of the Year' contender.

Though the former UFC interim champion won't be returning to the Octagon next month.

"UFC and I didn't come to terms," he told ESPN. "I will not be fighting on Oct. 24.

"I just need to be compensated if they want this fight," he continued. "Simple as that.

"I'm a prize fighter and the prize needs to be right."

A lightweight unification showdown between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champion Justin Gaethje will serve as the main-event of UFC 254.

The show will take place on 'Fight Island' in Abu Dhabi.
