Calvin Kattar suffered a broken nose and required eight staples in his scalp as he was sent to the hospital immediately after his grueling defeat to Max Holloway.
The Boston fighter absorbed an incredible amount of damage as the Hawaiian star landed a record 445 significant strikes over a punishing 25 minutes.
The former UFC featherweight champion set a ridiculous pace, unloading a barrage of punches, kicks and elbows on Kattar who took it on the chin. Quite literally.

He was transported to the hospital following his defeat and his manager and head coach, Tyson Chartier, revealed the extent of the injuries he sustained.
"Kattar sustained a broken nose in the fight and also required eight staples in his scalp to close the wounds Holloway opened up with his relentless offense," he told MMA Junkie.
Speaking after the thrilling featherweight clash in Abu Dhabi, UFC president Dana White admits that he was "freaking out" during the fourth round.
"I thought the fight should have been stopped in the fourth round," he said.

"I was freaking out a little bit. I said [to his coaches] he's not going to stop and talk to anybody. We're going to take him straight to the ambulance and send him to the hospital.
"Then I went over to him and I said 'you're so tough, what an unbelievable performance' and he said 'that's not what I want to be known for.'
"He goes 'but I'm not going to back down to anybody' and I said we're going to send you straight to the hospital right now.
"I don't want you talking to anybody or doing anything. He started laughing and thought that was funny. He's in good spirits, his head is clear."
Kattar's defeat snaps a two-fight winning streak while Holloway returns to the win column following his defeats to Alexander Volkanovski.
