Jorge Masvidal's spectacular 2019 in the UFC is down to his superb call out of Darren Till.

Masvidal's enjoying the most prolific run of his UFC career following stoppage victories over Till, Ben Askren and Nate Diaz.

A far cry from his year in 2017 which saw him go 1-2. He didn't compete in 2018, but he seemingly transformed his career in 2019 by shooting his shot.

He called for a showdown with British star Till who accepted, and never looked back.

"@darrentill2 I hear you having the same probs I am trying to find someone to fight you in your backyard. I love fighting in other peoples backyards. I'm game if ufc can make it happen," Masvidal wrote in a tweet on January 14, 2019.

Of course, Masvidal stopped Till in the second round after landing a devastating left hand to knock him out at UFC London.

He then went onto beat Ben Askren in just five seconds to record the fastest knockout in UFC history before claiming the BMF title by defeating Diaz last November.

The Miami native hasn't got a fight lined up, but it appears the returning Conor McGregor is interested in tangling with the 'baddest motherf**ker of the Octagon'.

"Conor has this idea, too, that if things don't go his way and he [doesn't] get the fight [with Khabib], he'll have had a 170 fight in his pocket again and [is] considering a [Jorge] Masvidal fight," Dana White explained.

"I think everybody knows what I think about it. I think it's a bad idea.

"Conor gets pissed off when I say it's a bad idea, and he's like, 'You think I can't beat Masvidal?' I'm not saying you can't beat Masvidal. Anybody can beat anybody on any given day, but why? Why go after that fight when you could possibly just wait?

"Conor wants that belt from Masvidal," White added. "I did it as a one off and like I said, it was fun. It was awesome. We'll see what happens."

Masvidal vs. McGregor in 2020? Stay tuned.
