Conor McGregor has unleashed a fresh attack on bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov and claims he was two rounds up in their fight.

Nurmagomedov put on a dominant display at UFC 229 back in 2018 and comfortably defeated McGregor via fourth round submission.

But 'The Notorious' took to Twitter on Monday night and stated he won rounds one and three, while giving Nurmagomedov two and four "after the trip."

Fans begun to argue back with the former 'Champ-champ' and asked him to explain why he was so confident.

McGregor replied and said Nurmagomedov's showing in round one was "pitiful."

Fans have reacted to McGregor's outburst and they don't agree with his take on the fight.

McGregor is set to return to the octagon on January 23 when he takes on Dustin Poirier.

Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov will defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 254 on Saturday night.
