'Conor McGregor's Next Fight Will Be Nate Diaz Three'

'Conor McGregor's Next Fight Will Be Nate Diaz Three'

Conor McGregor's next logical UFC fight is a trilogy bout with longtime rival Nate Diaz - according to UFC legend Michael Bisping.

McGregor made his return to UFC in January when he defeated Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds at UFC 246.

Many have speculated who he will face next but Bisping thinks there's one logical choice.

"Conor's next fight will be Nate Diaz 3", Bisping explained on his podcast per Essentially Sports.

"That's my guess, that's my semi-educated non-circle of trust guess. That's me throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks."

It lines up with the prediction Bisping made in January when he stated a third fight would do 'big business'.

"He [McGregor] was talking about Nate Diaz, and Nate Diaz 3 will do big business. Conor will smoke Nate Diaz because Nate Diaz has always been an average fighter; he just built his f*cking career on choking out Conor McGregor," the 41-year-old explained.

"The second fight he got beat, and now because of all his inactivity, Conor will smoke him. So in the meantime, we'll get Conor-Diaz 3 and then he'll fight Khabib later in the year. That's my prediction."

McGregor and Diaz currently hold a victory apiece over one another, with Diaz winning at UFC 196 and McGregor at UFC 202 respectively.

Diaz's last fight came at UFC 244 when he was defeated by Jorge Masvidal in a bout to crown the inaugural BMF Champion.

McGregor himself discussed a potential third fight with Diaz after he defeated Cerrone, stating:

"Let's go Nathan, let's go brother!

"Number three, it's always here, so, we're right here Nathan."

British legend Bisping also discussed the cancellation of UFC 249 and his disappointment at the fifth cancellation of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson.

"The only silver lining that I can see from this and I don't know if this would even happen. But one potential is that when they rebook UFC 249... maybe we could see Khabib vs Tony again...

"I'm not shitting on Justin (Gaethje) vs Tony. I was very excited to watch that fight but Khabib vs Tony is the one everyone wanted to see."
