Tony Ferguson has responded to the news of UFC 249's cancellation and he's surprisingly taken it very well.
Ferguson was meant to be headlining the event against Justin Gaethje and he found out about the show being put on hold while promoting the fight.
"Oh well, I'm still gonna train," Ferguson told OC Register per BJPenn.com.

'El Cucuy' was originally meant to be facing Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title, but the Russian fighter had to pull out due to travel issues.
Ferguson likely won't have to fight Gaethje now but he insists his goals remain the same.
"Dude, I'm just gonna keep collecting trophies and doing my same s**t," Ferguson explained before getting emotional.
"Every single time I wake up in the morning, when I do my work, say my prayers and I do [stuff], I hug my little boy ... whew ... kiss my wife. I just ... keep doing what I'm doing. What am I gonna do?"

He also explained he would personally thank UFC president Dana White for his attempts to get any form of show running, as well as use this time away to bulk up.
"The constant is things are always gonna change. The variable is how am I gonna react to it?" Ferguson said. "So we could throw that variable, baby, and we make that the constant.
"Which is why I'm gonna keep smiling, I'm gonna keep training, and you know what? I'm gonna put on some muscle. Dude, I'm skinny. I'm gonna put on some muscle. I'm gonna try my best, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna try my best. If I fall, I'll get back up."
The UFC had tried all available avenues to get the event up and running but it wasn't to be.

White told ESPN, "Today, we got a call from the highest level you can go at Disney, and the highest level at ESPN ... and the powers that be there asked me to stand down and not do this event [next] Saturday."
