Nate Diaz has revealed that he is not interested in fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov as he has claimed that he's "already beat" the UFC lightweight champion.

The Stockton Slugger takes on Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title in New York and ahead of his main-event bout at UFC 244, he's spoke about potentially facing Nurmagomedov.

But the 34-year-old doesn't seem too interested in taking on the unbeaten Dagestan fighter.

"I already beat him," he said when asked if he wants to fight Nurmagomedov at UFC 244 media day.

Diaz and Nurmagomedov were involved in an altercation back in 2015 at a World Series of Fighting event.

Diaz claimed he slapped Nurmagomedov because he was making fun of him and the veteran welterweight has explained what happened when their teams clashed.

"Didn't I already try to fight him? They asked me who I wanted to fight. I said Khabib. They said no. I said I'd fight Pettis, then Masvidal for the BMF belt," he told Ariel Helwani.

"I'm not into this bully s***, he's [Khabib] into bullying and stuff, that's his thing. When I ran into him and his team at the World Series, I was standing there watching Jake, my friend, fight. And they took a group picture with me behind them, just to laugh at me, make fun of me.

"[Khabib] is like, 'Ah, come on, man' and they're all laughing, 12 Russian dudes. I slapped him in his face for making fun of me and I'm like, 'What?' And he didn't do nothing.

"I was outside furious. So I waited for him to come out there and I went to get him again and he ran off.

"I shouldn't have done that. It was reckless, it was stupid. I was mad, but he was picking on me. So now he's trying to act like 'Mr Make It Right'. 'I'm Mr Good, this guy's a piece of s***, I don't need this trash talk'. Whatever, you were gonna pick on me ... trying to act like the victim, that Conor [McGregor] was picking on him."

Nurmagomedov returned from his post-UFC 229 suspension by submitting Dustin Poirier and he's expected to make the third defence of his UFC lightweight title against Tony Ferguson next year.
