Nate Diaz Suffers Two Nasty Cuts In Loss To Jorge Masvidal At UFC 244

Nate Diaz Suffers Two Nasty Cuts In Loss To Jorge Masvidal At UFC 244

Nate Diaz suffered two nasty cuts on the right side of his face which led to the doctor stoppage in his main-event bout against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244.

Masvidal opened a cut on Diaz in the very first round after landing a slashing elbow which dropped the Stockon Slugger.

Diaz's gash continued to worsen with the cageside doctor eventually putting a halt to the BMF contest in between round three and four.

As soon as referee Dan Miragliotta waved off the contest, the Madison Square Garden crowd vented their frustration by booing the decision.

Speaking after the fight, Diaz seemed surprised the bout was stopped.

"I didn't think they were going to stop it," he said to Joe Rogan inside the Octagon. "I was just getting ready to get started.

"He got the job done like he was supposed to so right on to Jorge for what he did. But I'm coming back for your ass, motherf*cker. Let me heal up and let's go again."
