Conor McGregor's Next UFC Fight In The Works And Will Take Place In The Summer

Conor McGregor is set to fight Dustin Poirier in a blockbuster trilogy bout this summer, according to Dana White.
The UFC president says both McGregor and Poirier want the match and he's prepared to make it for this summer.
Thanks for the support everyone! Was not my night/morning in there but a great contest to improve on. I'm excited at the blockbuster trilogy I now have on my hands. Dustin is a hell of a competitor and I look forward to going again. God bless us all, happy Sunday

And, per White, he's "completely obsessed with the rematch" following his first knockout defeat of his professional MMA career.
Speaking to ESPN, he said: "Well, when you have two guys that are in their positions - Dustin is the No. 1 ranked guy in the world, you got Conor who is ranked No. 6, and they want the trilogy, you got to go with the trilogy.
"We're probably going to try to put that fight together this summer."
"When you've got two guys who want the trilogy as bad as those two do, you make it happen!"

On the Irishman's mindset, White added: "100 percent [he wants the rematch].
"He's completely obsessed with the rematch now and wants the fight back."
But it seems that the Stockton slugger will have to settle for another opponent with White targeting a third fight between McGregor and Poirier.
White also commented on the UFC lightweight title picture with champion Khabib Nurmagomedov still non-committal on his retirement stance.
The UFC boss plans to match up the top lightweight contenders against each other in an unofficial tournament.
"The fights that can be made to find out who becomes the next champion are unbelievable," he added.
"We're in for some incredible fights to find out which two of these guys from one to seven will square off to become the next world champion."
As for McGregor, he's already gearing himself up for his second fight of the year - taking to social media to show off his condition.
Will the 'Notorious' bounce back and defeat Poirier? Let us know what you think.
