But that hasn't stopped Georges St-Pierre's coach from breaking down the potential match-up.
Zahabi revealed exactly how McGregor vs. Gaethje would play out by claiming that the Irishman would "out punch" the American to a win.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: "They're both good punchers. McGregor is a better counter puncher.
"He has a longer reach. He's quicker. He has better eyes. He has better reflexes. I would pick Conor to win the striking."
He added: "I really like McGregor for the stand up.
"Will Gaethje take him down and ground and pound him? I don't know if he has the jiujitsu to do it.
"From all the Gaethje fights that I've seen, he doesn't do it. He uses wrestling in reverse.
"Somebody remind me of a Gaethje fight where he takes the guy down and 'Khabibs' him. I can't think of one.
"I just think McGregor would out punch him, out-strike him completely. He'll out kick him, out knee him. He'll just outdo him striking, and he will win."
McGregor vs. Gaethje may not happen anytime soon, but it's a fight that many fans would love to see.
Meanwhile, 'The Notorious' made a triumphant Octagon comeback when he destroyed Donald Cerrone in January.
Though he walked away from the UFC after growing frustrated with the promotion.
Gaethje, on the other hand, beat Tony Ferguson to claim the interim lightweight title at UFC 249. He's set to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254 on October 24.
