Conor McGregor wasted no time in responding to Manny Pacquiao signing with the same management firm as him.

Pacquiao signed a deal with McGregor's management company Paradigm Sports, who have pledged to take care of the Filipino's commercial and competitive endeavours.

The UFC superstar is now closer to a boxing showdown with 'Pac-Man' with both men part of the same management team.

And McGregor reacted to the news in typically hilarious fashion on social media: "Welcome to the team Emmanuel."

Speaking after joining Paradigm Sports, the 41-year-old said: "I am proud to partner with Paradigm Sports Management and am excited for the opportunities that Audie Attar and PSM have to offer.

"One thing I want everyone to remember is to always think positively. Never think negatively; that is the beginning of your downfall. Everything is possible."

President Audie Attar added: "I'm honored to have the opportunity not only to maximize Manny's boxing career but to help him continue to leave a legacy he is proud of through the lens of business and sport. My approach is to focus on each client and their goals always, and I look forward to fighting on his behalf."

McGregor returned to action last month at UFC 246 when he stopped Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds and before his comeback, the former UFC double champion teased a clash with Pacquiao.

"Manny has been, we're actually close, there's been a sitch, we're actually close to signing Manny. There has been talks about the Manny fight. There was an offer made on that," he said.

"But it's a possibility? I want to box again, I will box again. I want to get a boxing world title. I would box multiple times. I love boxing, I truly love boxing. And I'm damn good."
