Conor McGregor believes the judges got the decision wrong in the sensational women's strawweight title clash between Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Zhang controversially beat Jedrzejczyk by a razor-close split decision to defend her title at UFC 248.

Two judges scored the bout 48-47 to the Chinese fighter with one judge scoring the fight 48-47 to the Polish striker.

And McGregor has shared his thoughts on the amazing battle, and he reckons Jedrzejczyk should have got the nod from the judges.

On Twitter, he wrote: "Amazing contest! Wrong decision."

UFC president Dana White described the bout as one of the greatest fights in MMA history.

"It's one of the best fights I've ever seen, period. Right when the fight got over, I heard that they threw 800 punches, 400 each, in that ballpark," he explained.

"Both women were incredibly durable, kept coming forward, both of them wanted to win that belt so bad. It was one of the greatest fights ever.

"From what I saw, those guys were matching each other punch for punch. Every time someone would punch or kick, the other one would punch or kick.

"Both of them threw around 400 punches. It was an incredible fight."

The victory moves Zhang to 21-1 which includes five big UFC wins, while Jedrzejczyk (16-4) suffers her fourth UFC defeat.

The former UFC champion also suffered a brutal hematoma and she spoke about her head injury following the contest.

"You see my [swelling], I felt this, you know, she did great," she said. "There was something missing, but I felt all the punches, from the third round the [swelling] was bothering me and I felt it just getting more and more swollen, and my head was, like, going on and off.

"But all good. Congrats, champ, and I'm very happy that we gave you a good fight."
