Conor McGregor masterfully destroyed Eddie Alvarez to make UFC history, and as if that wasn't enough, he also produced the 'best line in the Octagon' during an iconic post-fight interview.

On this day in 2016, McGregor was in ultra fine form. The greatest version of himself, a fighter in his peak that reached unprecedented levels.

The 'Notorious' stopped Alvarez to claim the UFC lightweight title. In doing so, he become the first fighter in the promotion's history to hold UFC belts in two divisions simultaneously.

He was flawless inside the Octagon as he toyed with Alvarez and he continued his majestic ways when he spoke to Joe Rogan.

Though, at first, McGregor wasn't happy with Dana White and Co. He wanted the second UFC title ready.

"Where the f**k is my second belt? I've already got this one," he told Rogan.

"Where's the second one at, cheap motherf**kers? $4.2 billion this company was sold for. Where's that second belt? Go backstage and grab that motherf**ker.

"I already won and they're trying to take that one on me already. What the f**k?

"They should have had both those belts ready and spit-shined for me. It's never been done before."

On his accomplishment, McGregor added: "They're not on my level.

"You've got to have size, reach, length - you've got to have some attributes. If you come in any way equal to me, I'm going to rip your whole head off and that's it. I've done it every time."

The Irishman then dropped one of his greatest lines when he appeared to be ready to apologise for his antics.

"I've spent a lot of time slaying everyone in the company," he said.

"Backstage I'm starting fights with everybody. I've ridiculed everyone on the roster

"And I'd just like to say from the bottom of my heart, I'd like to take this chance to apologise... to absolutely nobody. The double champ does what the f**k he wants!"

But he delivered an even better line that touched home when he was eventually handed the second UFC title.

"This is what I dreamed into reality!" He said after carrying the two UFC straps.

Arguably the greatest moment in his professional career that will be remembered forever and has been etched in MMA history.

In reaction, one YouTuber user wrote: "This was the peak no question. People will watch this 60+ years down the line and wish that they were born in our time."

A second added: "This was the most epic post fight interview in UFC history, my god Conor was a magic man and i am not sad about what happened in his career after that."

A third added: "'This is what I dreamed into reality!' Best line in the octagon."
