Jorge Masvidal Brilliantly Shuts Down Rumours That He's Out Of UFC 244

The UFC welterweight has reacted to news spreading on social media.

Jorge Masvidal has emphatically shut down claims he's out of UFC 244 by insisting he has never missed a "baptism".

A Twitter account spread a rumour on social media that Masvidal was out of UFC 244, but the UFC veteran has dismissed that claim by posting on social media.

"I've never missed a baptism #bmf," he wrote on Twitter.

A user on social media had claimed Masvidal was out of UFC 244, and the fake news spread quickly with even Michael Bisping expressing some concern.

"Jorge Masvidal out of UFC 244, sources say. Story coming to @espn shortly. Nate Diaz status unknown if he'll remain on the card. UFC looking for a new opponent," the account wrote about Masvidal.

Masvidal, meanwhile, believes his clash with Diaz is one of the "biggest" fights in quite some time.

"We're making the biggest fight of the year. The biggest fight in quite some time in the way that we're moving the needle and it's not because we're the most charismatic people or I don't know what. I think it's just because we're going to fight and people know that," he said.

"It's just going to be two guys testing each other's souls to the max. We've both been in those trenches, those fights that are tough and we pull out the victory. But we know how to dig and people love to see that. Guys that push through the f**king pain, fatigue.

"I'm going to give it my best effort to do what I've always done and that's go for the off button. I just want to make sure I win this one in impressive fashion."

And, of course, the pair of UFC favourites will be fighting for the promotion's inaugural 'BMF' title which 'The Rock' will present to the winner.
