Khamzat Chimaev would put UFC legend Conor McGregor "in a wheelchair" if they ever fought, according to his manager.

Chimaev is one of the promotion's fastest rising stars and knocked out Gerald Meerschaert in 17 seconds on Saturday night.

The 26-year-old has a 9-0 record and has previously stated he travelled to Ireland to seek out McGregor.

Ali Abdelaziz, who also represents McGregor's longtime rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, has reopened old wounds and told 'The Notorious' he would be no match for Chimaev.

"Khamzat would put Conor McGregor in a wheelchair and he would drink from a straw for the rest of his life," he told TMZ Sports.

"I'm not looking for Khamzat to fight a mentally unstable fighter. Conor McGregor is mentally unstable. I wish him the best of luck.

McGregor retired from UFC earlier this year but it is expected he will make some kind of return in 2021.

Meanwhile, Chimaev is making waves in the middleweight division and UFC president Dana White is a big fan already.

He told Megan Olivi during the UFC Vegas 11 post-show on Saturday: "One punch. Seventeen seconds. This kid is special. He's different than any fighter I've ever seen.

"I've been in the business for a very long time, I've seen a lot of greats come and go; this kid is absolutely special and I've never seen anything like it."

White then added the Russian-born Swede is one of the "most special fighters" he has seen in his career.

"The guy's special. I've been in this game my whole life, I've never seen anything like him. He's special, he's different and he wants to fight again.

"I've never been in a position where I'm like, 'Who's next? How do we get him a fight? How do we get him over here, how do we get him over there? How do we do this, how do we do that?'

"It's fun and I like it and I think when you're a fight fan a guy like this is who you love to watch and follow and hate and whatever it might be.

"This guy is one of the most special fighters I've ever seen, if not the most special guy that I've ever come across."
