Conor McGregor has decided to book himself against former rival Dustin Poirier in a huge charity fight - without help from the UFC.
'The Notorious' announced his retirement back in June and revealed earlier this month he is set to return to boxing to face Manny Pacquiao.

He still has a passion for MMA however and it looks like a bout in the octagon is coming up at the end of this year.
McGregor, who defeated Poirier six years ago on Monday, made a huge proposition to 'The Diamond' on social media.
"Hey bro," he begun. "You want to do an MMA charity fight? Zero to do with the UFC. I will donate half a mill towards your charity for it. Sell it on ppv or work a tv deal and we work out other charities that are close to my heart also. I am engaged in many. Strictly a charity 'exhibition.'"

McGregor went on to suggest a date of December 12 at the Point Depo in Ireland, while laying out it would be at open weight.
Poirier has been locked in a pay dispute with UFC president Dana White this year as he attempts to fight Tony Ferguson.
"Yeah lets go," the former interim lightweight champion quickly replied before McGregor stressed it would be an MMA fight.

McGregor then tells Poirier he "has his respect" and they'll continue fight negotiations offline.
BMF champion Jorge Masvidal has thrown his support behind the exhibition, saying he will be watching along and donating.
ESPN report the pair are still under contract with the UFC, who would have to approve of the contest.

McGregor defeated Donald Cerrone back in January and he admitted on Instagram it's "f**ked up" that remains his only action in 2020.
Meanwhile, Poirier defeated Dan Hooker in June.
