Rare footage of Conor McGregor and Jon Jones sparring with one another has emerged following McGregor's controversial GOAT Twitter thread.
McGregor had fight fans talking on Saturday after a thread in which he listed himself as the greatest fighter ever, with 'Bones' in fourth.
A fan replied to the thread with a video of Jones and McGregor sparring with the caption: 'He's always known he's second best to you champ."

The Irishman then shared the footage himself and had a few words for the current light heavyweight champion.
McGregor explained: I said 4, maybe 3 [in his GOAT list].
This here is No.2 in Rolex's, and with only 2 in play.
I like Jon. Still active, can climb higher. Must shake repetitive iddybiddy knee kick habit he has, learn to box backwards, take divisional jump fearlessly, then most important of all, win it in full style.
More footage of the duo playfully sparring at a UFC promotional photo shoot can be seen in the video below.
Interestingly, McGregor calls Jones the 'pound for pound number two' in the video, with himself being number one.

Jones was quick to respond to McGregor's thread and his own placement on the list.
The 32-year-old responded on Twitter and stated: "I'm not going to debate on who is the goat, I'll let the fans do that for me."
Jones has recently engaged in a war of words with Francis Ngannou and he joked that he's turned his eyes from one UFC star to another.

He then took it a step further by posting a list of the most wins in title bouts throughout UFC history, with Jones top of the pile and McGregor missing from the list completely.
Jones captioned it with: "GOAT where you at?"
