Budding UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev has called for a huge showdown against Conor McGregor.

Chimaev has shot to fame after scoring three big UFC wins in just 66 days - a UFC record.

He most recently took out Gerard Meerschaert in 17-seconds at UFC Fight Night last weekend.

The 26-year-old is set to return to action later this year with UFC president Dana White confirming he'll headline an event in Las Vegas.

No opponent has been lined up yet for Chimaev with the 9-0 prospect wanting to "smash" McGregor.

"I want to smash the burger king guy easy money," he wrote on Twitter.

Chimaev is referring to McGregor's endorsement work with Burger King.

The Swedish fighter is expected to be matched up against a ranked opponent next before facing a top contender.

But if the UFC does indeed book a bout between Chimaev and McGregor, the Swedish fighter's manager Ali Abdelaziz doesn't think the Irishman will stand a chance.

"Khamzat would put Conor McGregor in a wheelchair and he would drink from a straw for the rest of his life," he told TMZ Sports.

"I'm not looking for Khamzat to fight a mentally unstable fighter. Conor McGregor is mentally unstable. I wish him the best of luck.

"Khamzat would kill him. He would really kill him."

McGregor, of course, walked away from the UFC in June after growing frustrated with the promotion.

Though he has been linked with an Octagon return with White claiming he's working on "some fun stuff" for 'The Notorious' at the beginning of 2021.
