Islam Makhachev has vowed to "smash" Conor McGregor in response to his "water boy" jibe after a match-up between them was proposed by Khabib Nurmagomedov's father.
McGregor announced his UFC comeback during a press tour in Moscow and he also aimed a brutal dig at Khabib's hometown of Dagestan.

Abdulmanap, Khabib's father and trainer, wasted no time in responding and laid out a plan for McGregor to fight one of his pupils in the form of Makhachev.
But the Irishman turned down his offer as he took to social media: "To Abdulmanap.. I respect your training methods and what you have done. But I laugh at water boy and team nutritionist Islam Makhachev as an opponent. I do not engage in sport combat with convicted steroid cheats. It is your son Abdul! Your middle son. I already got your eldest."
Makhachev, who's ranked No.15 in the lightweight division, has hit back at McGregor's claim while referring to the charge the Dublin star is facing for an attack on an elderly man in an Irish bar.

"Yes, you more likely take fight with old man rather than another Dagestani smash your face," he wrote on social media.
Makhachev appears to be out of the running to face McGregor who's set to return to the Octagon on January 18 in Las Vegas.
Justin Gaethje and Donald Cerrone have been touted as potential opponents.
