Kamaru Usman has savagely taunted Conor McGregor on social media following his manager offering the Irishman a UFC title shot.

A UFC welterweight title clash between champion Usman and McGregor has been mooted after Jorge Masvidal called for rematch with Nate Diaz.

Usman's manager Ali Abdelaziz is willing to give the title shot to McGregor, whose previously eyed the welterweight division.

And ahead of a potential championship meeting at 170lbs, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' has aimed a brutal dig at the former UFC double champion.

"I really don't understand why you all want this man DEAD!!! I'd shag him in there if I wanted and he'd 'DO NOTHIN' FOH," he wrote on Twitter, accompanied with a photoshopped picture of the two fighters inside the Octagon.

Usman vs. McGregor could be a reality after Abdelaziz gave the green light for the title fight.

On Twitter, he wrote: "It looks like #1 contender wants to fight Nate Diaz now. Good for him."

He added: "@TheNotoriousMMA hey you want a title shot ? Come to daddy @USMAN84kg will give you one and he promise first 2 rounds without takedowns only slaps."

McGregor, of course, has two wins at welterweight in the form of victories over Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone. No fighter in UFC history has captured titles in three separate weight classes.

Will McGregor be the first man to achieve this UFC record?
