Kamaru Usman survived a huge scare to beat Gilbert Burns to defend his UFC welterweight title at UFC 258.

The title challenger got off to an explosive start, landing a massive right hand that dropped the champion in the first minute of their bout.

Usman, though, fought through Burns' early onslaught before landing his own devastating blow.
In the third round, he landed a stiff jab that dropped the Brazilian then unleashed a barrage of shots on the ground to record his 13th win inside the Octagon.

Usman was making his first UFC appearance since his dominant victory over Jorge Masvidal back in July 2020.
And despite beating 'Gamebred' at UFC 251, he wants to run it back with him - eyeing a finish.

Speaking to Joe Rogan, he said: "We got this little street thug calling himself Jesus, he thinking he's Jesus.
"We tried to make that fight several times, they tried to make that fight. But he kept backing out.
"The only reason this man took the fight is because it was on six days' notice, and he had a built-in excuse. And he's still running his mouth, talking about, 'Oh, he broke my nose and stepping in on six days' notice.'
"Guess what? It's not done. I'll give you a whole training camp, I guarantee you, you won't' sign on that dotted line because this time, I'mma finish your ass."
He added: "Anyone of these fools can get it. Anyone of them. But he keeps running his mouth. If he's gonna talk, step in here and you gotta see me. Step in here and see me."
Masvidal's camp swiftly responded with the fighter's manager Malki Kawa taking to social media to accept Usman's call-out.
He tweeted: "Let's do It. TUF. Masvidal vs usman. We accept."
