Justin Gaethje Called Out By UFC Star Whose Already Beaten Him In The Octagon
Poirier is the last fighter to hand Gaethje a loss in the UFC when he stopped him in the fourth round of their epic showdown in April 2018.
Gaethje has since won four straight fights including defeating Tony Ferguson to claim the interim UFC lightweight title at UFC 249 last month.
'The Highlight' is next in line to face UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, but Poirier is open to running it back and believes they would give the fans another war.
"I'm always open to it," Poirier said about a second meeting with Gaethje to MMA Junkie.
"It was 'Fight of the Year,' I thought, and I'm sure it would be again," he added. "I love watching him fight and, like I always say, anybody I'm a fan of watching fight, I would love to fight them because I know we'll put some craziness on in there."

'The Diamond' returns to action on Saturday when he takes on Dan Hooker.
He hasn't fought since his submission defeat to Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 last September.
"I can't get him off me!"

And having shared the cage with both Nurmagomedov and Gaethje, he's weighed in on their impending championship clash which is scheduled for September.
"It just depends how it unfolds and how Justin's footwork is," he explained.
"If he can stay off the fence, I think he's gonna give Khabib a lot of problems. Khabib's gonna have a tough time taking him down in the open. But against the fence, I'm not sure.
"If Khabib gets him up (against) the fence and starts getting in on his legs, he might give Gaethje some trouble there and get him down and it's gonna be hard to get back up. I know first hand."
