Justin Gaethje Agrees To Fight Tony Ferguson At UFC 249, Potential Location Revealed

Justin Gaethje has reportedly agreed to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 with the fight card set to take place on Native American tribal land.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov won't be able to fight on April 18 because Russia has closed its borders due to the coronavirus outbreak.

And the UFC have wasted no time in replacing his void by drafting in Gaethje, who is IN according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani. However, Ferguson is "still weighing several options".

Helwani also claims the promotion is looking at locations in America after failing to secure an oversea location - United Arab Emirates had been discussed.

"Oklahoma, California, Florida and Kansas have been brought up," says Helwani. "Most likely a Native American tribal land."

Speaking after Nurmagomedov's travel situation, UFC president Dana White said: "The challenges are that every time I get something figured out, I wake up the next day and the world has completely changed again.

"Everything that I work hard on the day before, me and my crew, has now fallen apart. It literally just happened to us again today. I woke up and Khabib Nurmagomedov is in Russia and they just shut down all travel in and out of Russia.

"I woke up this morning and the whole world f**king changed again," he added. "So back to the drawing board and we're figuring this out right now as we're speaking right now, I have people working on this thing as we speak.

"Listen, I am absolutely f**king relentless and I said that this fight is going to go on and it will."
