Jorge Masvidal Rips Into Conor McGregor Ahead Of Potential UFC Fight

Masvidal issued a message to McGregor, who's set to return to the Octagon in 2020.

Jorge Masvidal has ripped into Conor McGregor and believes he's scared of fighting him.

Masvidal beat Nate Diaz at UFC 244 to be crowned the 'baddest motherf**ker of the Octagon' and he was asked about a potential fight with McGregor.

"To be quite frank, [Conor] was flirting with fighting the winner when the possibility of the winner was Nate," the Miami veteran said.

"He kept throwing it out there. He even made his prediction. But, since I've won, he hasn't said a peep. That dude don't want it man."

Masvidal continued by saying that he's not a bully and won't goad him into a fight.

"I'm not a bully, either," he added. "I'm not going to be one of these cyber bullies. If you don't want to fight, I don't want to fight. If you want to fight, I'm licking my chops. Man, we're going shopping. We're going to do it big. You know what I'm saying? That dude don't want it."

McGregor, who's set to return to the Octagon in 2020, had predicted Diaz to beat Masvidal and Georges St-Pierre's former head coach Firas Zahabi believes Masvidal would come out on top against the Irishman.

"I think (Masvidal) beats McGregor," he said. "I think McGregor is a great fighter, I just think Masvidal is too big. He's a great puncher and has a great chin. If he takes McGregor past the two rounds, it's going to be the Masvidal show.

"If I had to choose one guy off the top of my head, I would pick McGregor right now. However, there are guys out there who are very dangerous punchers, and I would say Jorge is among the elite.

"I'm not saying McGregor has no chance of winning, but he'd have to win early, and he'd have to connect with the left. And, everybody kind of knows now what McGregor does.

"I think Masvidal's gonna have a really good game plan, come really prepared, and he's a lot bigger.

"If McGregor had a hard time with Nate, he's going to have a tremendously difficult time with Masvidal."
