Jorge Masvidal nearly passed out during his extreme weight cut for UFC 251 as he lost 20lbs in just six days.

'Gamebred' accepted a very short notice fight to face Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title on 'Fight Island' last month.

He had to lose a 20lbs in six days or else he would not be eligible to win the prestigious UFC belt.

Professional as ever, the 35-year-old hit the mark as he tipped the scales at 170lbs at the UFC 251 weigh-ins.

But the process to the championship limit took its toll on Masvidal who nearly passed out during the weight cut.

Masvidal went onto lose a lopsided decision to Usman at UFC 251, but secured a huge pay day.

The Miami superstar has been campaigning for an immediate rematch, though a second fight against Usman this year seems unlikely with Gilbert Burns next in line for a UFC title shot.

But UFC commentary Jon Anik believes he's in a brilliant position and should target a fight versus Conor McGregor.

"The world is Jorge Masvidal's oyster right now," he said. "Any fight that Jorge Masvidal wants is at his disposal right now.

"I certainly have a healthy appetite for the Nate Diaz rematch. I think Conor McGregor would probably be my first choice, because of the magnitude of that fight.

"That's north of two million pay-per-view buys given the early returns on the number we did at UFC 251 but Masvidal has really bet on himself, and cashed.

"So, all of the big fights are available to him. It's just going to be a matter of what [UFC matchmaker] Sean Selby and [UFC president] Dana White choose to do."
