Jake Paul has begun a new war of words with a UFC star, one who said of the YouTuber: "As punchable faces go, this might be the most punchable I've seen."

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman posted that message alongside a picture of Paul smoking a cigar - and the social media star turned boxer did not hold back in his response.

"The most punchable face that hasn't been punched one time in two fights," replied Jake on Twitter. "Vs the face that got TKO/KO'D five times in your last seven fights.

Weidman's screenshot of Paul was taken from his infamous, expletive-filled rant against Conor McGregor in which the YouTuber insulted the Irish UFC star, his fiance and Dana White.

Understandably, it's upset a lot of people. But judging by his response to Weidman - and his water balloon "drive by" of McGregor ally Dillon Danis - Jake Paul is not backing down.

Statistically, Paul is at least correct about Weidman's recent MMA record. The UFC veteran has lost five of his last seven against elite MMA competition, but did score a victory in his last fight against Omari Akhmedov in August.

However while Weidman has been fighting the likes of Kelvin Gastelum and Yoel Romero, Paul has beaten a fellow YouTuber and an ex-NBA star in his professional boxing career so far. So there's a pretty steep difference in their level of competition.

Fight fans on social media have also been questioning Paul's claim that he hasn't "been punched one time in two fights".

As there's clear video and imagery of the 23-year-old looking a little bloodied in the aftermath of victory.

Still, it looks as though the younger Paul - whose older brother Logan takes on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition bout in February - is making yet another enemy among those in mixed martial arts.

Will all this antagonism get Jake Paul the McGregor fight he apparently wants? Or will 'The Notorious' continue to ignore him and focus on his actual UFC career?
