Israel Adesanya has fired back at Jon Jones' "p*ssy" claim by unleashing a brutal attack on social media.

The pair of UFC champions have been bickering on Twitter with Jones upping the ante by claiming Adesanya has dethroned Daniel Cormier as his "p*ssy".

"Lol I formally release DC as being my pussy, Izzy now takes the throne," he wrote in reply to Adesanya's coach snubbing him.

Though the Nigerian-born Kiwi has wasted no time in responding by unloading a barrage of savage posts on Twitter.

"Oh @JonnyBones ... 'You can be such a pervert sometimes'," he wrote on social media.

Adesanya took another swipe at the UFC light-heavyweight king by posting a picture of him.

He then mocked Jones by bringing up a recent tax story.

"He needs the money, nigga owes tax. #lookintoit."

Before sharing two videos where he continued to troll Jones.

"I want all the picograms of freshly squeezed juice" and another titled "Allegedly" where he details a gym story.

Their intense feud continues to simmer ahead of a potential super-fight, but Adesanya's coach Eugene Bareman would rather his fighter move up two divisions and face UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

"Israel does not need Jon Jones at all. Israel is baiting Jon Jones at every corner, and Jon Jones just keeps biting because Jon Jones knows he needs Israel," he said.

"Let's not talk about Jon Jones. Let's talk about Stipe. If we have to talk about this super-fight, let's talk about Stipe. Let's talk about Israel going up. Has anybody gone up and won two titles, but skipped a division? Well, there you go. There's a bit of history.

"Jon Jones so far has not been willing to go to heavyweight. He's been reluctant to go to heavyweight. Am I correct? Well, Israel wouldn't be reluctant to go to heavyweight.

"Israel would go to heavyweight and he would fight Stipe Miocic. There you go. We'll take that fight, Jon Jones. If you don't want to take it, you can hang around."
