Justin Gaethje threw away his interim UFC lightweight title and pointed at Khabib Nurmagomedov's belt during the face-off ahead of UFC 254.
Both men squared off against each other for the first time since the fight was made official in July.
And during the head-to-head, the American challenger removed his interim strap after initially posing with it for photo opportunities.

He then appeared to gesture at Nurmagomedov's belt: "I want that one."
'The Highlight' captured the interim title after defeating Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 in May.

He stopped Ferguson to set up a meeting against Nurmagomedov, who had to withdraw from his bout with Ferguson after being stuck in Russia due to COVID-19
'The Eagle' hasn't fought since his submission victory over Dustin Poirier in September 2019.
But he returns to the Octagon this weekend to defend his UFC crown.
