MMA Fighter Downs Fan's Beer After First Round, Goes On To Lose Fight

Incredible scenes.

This is the incredible moment an MMA fighter necked a fan's beer in between rounds before going on to lose the bout.

Over in Lima, Peru, Paulo "Bananada" Silva took on Johnny Iwasaki at FFC 40 and was feeling a little thirsty after the opening round.

However instead of being given water, he decided to jump on the Octagon - as if he was going to do his best impression of Khabib at UFC 229 - and asked for a fan to pass him their beer.

They obliged and he promptly guzzled the pint before handing it back and climbing off the cage. This all happened while his opponent, Iwasaki, was being seen to by his trainer.

Silva's trainer, almost not quite believing what his fighter was doing, gave him a slap on the back of the leg before eventually wiping his face in the corner.

The beer didn't give him a winning boost though sadly as the Brazilian lost the fight on unanimous decision.

Sometimes those who compete in the uber competitive and dangerous world of combat sports just need their food and drink fix. Just ask Fabio Wardley, a heavyweight boxer asked his corner if they were all going to Five Guys while he was being given instructions.

Wardley, managed by 'The Body Snatcher' Dillian Whyte, moved to 8-0 (7KOs) after stopping Mariano Ruben Diaz Strunz inside the distance and was more than deserving of his fast food treat after an impressive win.

Back to beer though, the best ever example of a sportsperson downing a pint from a fan came last year when Hammarby IF captain Kennedy smashed in a 30-yard free-kick and celebrated by catching a beer and drinking it.
