Dustin Poirier Makes Huge Khabib Nurmagomedov Claim After Victory Over Dan Hooker

MMA star Dustin Poirier says he knows he can beat UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov following his 'Fight of the Year' victory over Dan Hooker.
Poirier returned to the win column with a spectacular win against Hooker at UFC Vegas 4 last weekend.
And 'The Diamond', who's 5-1 in his last six fights, believes he's the "best in the world" and wants another shot at Nurmagomedov.
The veteran American fought Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 last September, but he succumbed to the Russian who won by submission. But he acknowledges he made mistakes during that contest and says he knows he can beat the undefeated fighter.

"I feel like I'm the best in the world," he told ESPN. "I made mistakes and I got beaten by Khabib, but I know that I can beat Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"I know I can. I can beat anyone of these guys. I don't want to get anyone back. I'm not in the grudge match business. I want to be the best in the world. I want to be the undisputed world champion."
The 31-year-old is enjoying the most prolific run of his professional career and he's credited his turnaround to his first round loss to Conor McGregor back in September 2014.
"It definitely started happening after the Conor McGregor loss," the former UFC interim lightweight champion said about his evolution as a fighter.
"That was the start of it. It's been a long process, being a father, losing again, winning some and losing again, and winning another one.
"It's just a long evolution of stop caring so much. You just stop caring about the noise and stuff that doesn't matter."
Nurmagomedov, who hasn't fought since his victory over Poirier, sadly lost his father on Friday after Abdulmanap passed away due to complications of COVID-19.
Poirier offered his condolences to the Nurmagomedov family on social media.
